Actually, I LIKE the name. Could we get away with such a name?
I would like to say that the name isn't important but the recent suggestions lack, somewhat, in 'seriousness'. For the name ogre there's already www.ogre3d.org (i.o.w. taken) and with the name ogzilla it sounds , well, a bit like some asian electronic company with the marketing department gone haywire (just looking at abit's homepage and the latest intel motherboard: 'Fatal1ty' - makes me cringe). How about something with techsource combined with graphics or open graphics, like 'opentech3d'. Does it need to contain the word open? Maybe 'Field Programmable Graphics Architecture' (=FPGA), to emphasize the cards re-programmability? ;-)
No disrespect intended!
No disrespect taken.
One thing that needs to be clear is that Tech Source can only take names for which they can get a private registered trademark. It's necessary for brand identity. We appreciate suggestions; just be aware that TSI needs to be able to own the name. I need to say that because we don't want anyone getting upset because we "stole" their idea.
