One thing I forgot to add is that once we get to the working prototype
stage, then I have access to a bunch of hardware to test on.
At home I have one AMD based and one P4 based PC, I also have an old
AlphaServer 1000A and an old AlphaStation (although I suspect that one's
slightly broken, haven't used it in ages). In addition to that I have a
friend who runs a small software testing company who has a lab of ~30 PC's
of varying configurations - everything from old P100, K6-III boxes etc all
the way up to modern Athlon64. I would probably be able to take a
prototype to him and test it in a bunch of different boxes. I also have
access to a variety of old and new IBM desktop PC's at work that I would
most likely be able to test on.
