Four would be great, it's a nice round GB/s in both directions.  It's a 
connector problem though: as far as I can see, a 4X card won't fit in 
the 1X slot, so forget about multiple cards for multihead.  On the 
other hand, you could do triple head with one PCI-E 4x and two PCI 
cards.
