Thanks. It seems that for Render acceleration they tried something like the 
move-in-move-out scheme for software fallbacks that I suggested in an 
earlier mail and found that it was in fact bad for performance.
So we will have to deal with mmap()ing video memory in normal userspace 
programs.

Seems like the server problems were only temporary, I managed to download a 
copy after all.
