And this "sigma" have a very well known bad attitude toward foss communauty 
(problem with GPL code...).

So having a name that could be confused could became a very bad advertising 
for the open graphics project.

I beleived that aurora was a "nice" generic name, a less mathematical and a 
more "poetic"  term.
