Hi I'm really interested in your project. My bigger problem when I choose a graphic card is : "will it be able to run Looking Glass ?" Since I didn't see anything about it in the archives, here are the questions I have in order to know if Looking Glass can work with a graphic card... 1- Good composite support : as composite is being more and more used in various projects (KDE uses it for translucent windows, it will use it for taskbar thumbnails...), I think you already spoke enough about it, no problem here 2- RenderAccel working : it is really important for Looking Glass to have Render working as fast as possible, because Looking Glass does heavy use of it (for instance, you move your mouse out of a window => its opacity change, its thumbnail change... and opacity uses Render) 3- The bigger problem : allow OpenGL while Composite is running. Most drivers disable OpenGL if Composite is running, I don't really know why. But it is a big problem for Looking Glass ! Actually, only nvidia and some ati cards work with Looking Glass, mostly because of that problem
So, what about these problems with your graphic card ? Will you support all that ? Thanks for reading me :) _______________________________________________ Open-graphics mailing list [email protected] http://lists.duskglow.com/mailman/listinfo/open-graphics List service provided by Duskglow Consulting, LLC (www.duskglow.com)
