I am resonding to your question about IC part numbers. JEDEC set-up a system
years ago, but industry decided not to use it.

For present day info, there are two places I would look: CAPS Expert and
Partminer. Since these two have merged recently, it should be easy. CAPS is
owned by IHS in Englewood, CO (Denver). Partminer is in Melville, NY. The
problem is, these databases are not free to use. You must pay to use them.
But if you are willing to pay CAPS, it is a comprehensive database.
Partminer also uses the CAPS database, but also allows you to buy the part
from them.

CAPS can be contacted at 888-752-0334 and Partminer at 888-232-0701. You can
find their websites easily using Google.
