It does for me too, but that's a _good_ thing. :-)

I believe the Amiga team wanted a word with friendly associations, and
they started looking through various dictionaries. They wanted
"Amica" (Latin for friendly, I think), but there was a calculator or
something called that, so they went for "Amiga", which I think means
"Female friend" in Spanish.

The above story is one I have seen in various incarnations, and I think
it's probably at least half true, but don't quote me on it. :-)

Amity is a great name, in my opinion.
