What I'm far more concerned is, will be all the features/bugfixes
available we need to use the 3S4000 with this
rather old version of ISE? What about the programming tools? Perhaps the
new tool's firmware refuses to work
with an old ISE version for the 3S4000?
I have worked for semiconductor manufacturers during my studies so far
as a student job, and most of the time
there were issues using the new ISP/JTAG programming tools with old IDE
versions...

Actually, the log file terminates after the synthesis run.
We still need to know if the place and route works.
The log is just in a weird order. It starts with Translate, then Map,
then P&R... then Synthesize.
