interesting point: if you're a start-up maker of home entertainment 
appliances or set-top boxes, then you have only one way to go: Linux. 
Apple is not going to share their platform with anyone, and with 
Windows you'll have to jump through all sorts of hoops to comply with 
their DRM, and as a small player, there's no way to do that. So open 
alternatives are all that's left. If you can manage to get some video 
hardware that is well-supported in Linux at least...

If that happens, video-in should be at the top of the list for post-OGA1 
development...
