There has been some discussion here before on a video card/X server 
using an Ethernet connection. I just came across this device:

16 64-bit MIPS cores and hardware accelerated TCP/IP and encryption. One 
core for running the X server, the rest for rendering. Well I suppose 
the 16-core version would be overkill (and too expensive) for most 
applications, but it sure is an interesting idea. Reminds me of Chuck 
Moore's 25X as well, except that it's much more powerful.
