You do have the point that the OGP is about producing hardware that works regardless of the software situation. What would be really nice is to get a separate committee going that works on this. Richard has some good ideas but doesn't want to work on it. I have a solid idea of what would make a good infrastructure, but I don't have time for it. And we don't want to throw random people at it.
