Did you already account for this in the layout? Ie does
the lines going to the IDC have more or less a defined
impedance?

we could hack up something limiting its disturbance

No.  The IDC is not appropriate.  Rather, I suspect we'll try to use
the pads for the 500MHz DACs, which are already laid out in
differential pairs.  (Assuming we keep them.)

I have to admit that for all I know, that's a horrible idea too.  :)
