For this application I don't think the use of any of the patented aspects of the FSB will be required. When building a chipset, the north bridge has to understand the full bus protocol including cache coherency. For the proposed graphics card, only a subset of the bus protocol is needed. (The 82G965 presumably implments the full bus protocol, but there is no reason that the card would be forced to use all of it.)
