Just to get my feet wet, I decided to document the way FIFOs work. The reason I started there is because the interface protocol we use for fifos is actually the same interface that we use for all sorts of other things. It's all over the place, and It's like we've got our own analogue to the Wishbone interface, just our own way of doing things. Since it's not just for fifos, I think we should name it something other than "FIFO protocol," so I'm taking suggestions.
