Karbon14 remains a seriously broken app, but I did manage to make a
PostScript file with it.

This isn't exactly correct, but it does have reflected gradients.
However, I don't know how this was done since the PS file appears to
be compressed or binary.

That's a PS with an embedded bitmap. Try scaling it to see. Of course,
that works, but I'd like a somewhat higher resolution for a poster.
Inkscape lets you set the resolution (and it defaults to 300dpi
anyway), so there's no problem there.
Yes, your are correct. I appear to have posted the wrong files. Please
