This is an interesting alternative. However, it appears to require coax (probably RG-6 to go any distance) and BNC (or TNC) connectors.


the classic cable for that stuff is belden 1694A, with 75 ohm BNCs. pretty cheap stuff, and it can go the distance (the spec says about 100m or so)
