Unfortunately, I don't have anything other than the already quoted

basic circuit layout.  But, this has probably been described decades
ago, I just didn't look much since I though it was more fun to treat the
serial-multiplier problem as an exercise.  (I now also have a version
widened to process two bits at a time.)

As you have probably seen from the "Sample VGA code..." thread, it seems
we don't need a multiplier at all in the nanocontroller.  Understanding
multipliers may become more relevant in preparing the graphics pipeline
for ASIC.
