-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Since desire for a free FPGA troolchain is expressed frequently on this list, I'd like to mention the Slipway project.
While it's still at an early stage they managed to get a carry-ripple adder from Verilog into an Atmel FPGA using free softeware. They use Icarus Verilog for synthesis. http://research.cs.berkeley.edu/project/slipway/ The router seems to work somehow, they intend to do more intelligent placing next (Independent, since it's not tied to a particular FPGA architecture http://www.ee.washington.edu/faculty/hauck/FPGA_CAD/Independence.html.)
