I hacked around some more and got a bitstream usiing the xc3s1000 part.

I am now on a hack-and-slash spree to see if I can fit it into an
xc3s200 part (because i have a couple of them), and I am **almost**
there:

Number of occupied Slices 1,954/1,920 101% OVERMAPPED

I would like to strip things down so I have a very basic framebuffer
(with a single DRAM channel), and ability to load the framebuffer over
a serial link.. Is there something more I can strip out of the memory
controller in memctl_fsm.v, for instance?
