I know we're using them and I don't recall any specific port issues on
machines with 3.0 ports.
Seems like long ago we needed to change the default USB settings in the
printer. The following describes how to make these changes, and I'll
note below the specific changes we've made.

The menu options needed are:
3: Customize Value Settings
11: USB Interface Settings
1: Class
2: Printer Class
0: Exit

Hey everyone,
I'm having an issue trying to get an Epson TM-T88IV set up on one of
our new computers to scan barcodes for PINES materials. Near as I can
tell the drivers and such are installed fine, it detects and
everything, but attempting to print anything inevitably results in an
error of some kind or another. Going through the Windows
troubleshooter, it says that "EPSON USB Controller for TM/BA/EU
Printers is an older USB device and might not work with USB 3.0. Plug
the device into an available USB 2.0 port." Unfortunately, the
computer I'm working with *only* has USB 3.0 ports... I tried it on
all of the machine's USB ports just to be sure, but without any success.
Has anyone else come across this? Is there a way to bypass this
somehow in the software? I'm going to need to get this set up on
several new computers with the same setup and I don't relish the
thought of having to find USB 2.0/3.0 hubs or converters just for
this. Any advice or thoughts would be very appreciated. Thanks!
