I can replicate this on 2.6.29, but not on newer kernels. I remember
some bug fixes in the scsi or block layer went in for handling
requeues
and unplugging (originally the problem was seen with fibre channel and
iscsi uses the same helpers as FC). I am looking through the
kernel.org
kernel git logs now, but am having trouble finding the fixes.
If you could give 2.6.32 a quick try and verify it works for you it
might help.
Mike,
unfortunately we do not have a *real* sandbox to test on; so am planning on
upgrading to 2.6.32 anyway. Would the isci inititator tools I mentioned in the
previous post be okay with this kernel; or would there be any benefit in
compiling the O-Scsi tarball ?
iscsi-initiator-utils-6.2.0.871-0.10.el5 should be fine.
I had made a update to that rpm:
http://people.redhat.com/mchristi/iscsi/rhel5.4.z/iscsi-initiator-utils/
but it only has fixes for bnx2i, so if you are not using that driver I
would not use the 5.4.z rpms.
I am also working on a larger update here for RHEL 5.5:
http://people.redhat.com/mchristi/iscsi/rhel5.5/iscsi-initiator-utils/
I am not completely done testing this rpm, but it should be pretty stable.
