Facilitates user acceptance workshops to identify requirements for acceptance test plans. Works with the user to select or create appropriate scenarios to test all results to determine whether system changes met project specifications; uses scenarios to assist the end user in acceptance testing. Operates as a liaison between technical personnel and the appropriate end-user department. Evaluates and translates end user needs and problems to technical associates. Teaches end users new technology and enhancements using all appropriate communication tools as well as providing support for existing system procedures. In upgrades, monitors production performance enhancements and system integrity with end-users. Typically, the Specialist level defines overall application functional requirements with end users and recommends application methodologies for solutions to functional requirements. Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with a good understanding of applicable business systems and industry requirements. Implements and upgrades applications and creates test plans for small scale projects. Analyzes model test discrepancies to find trends and works with programmers to resolve. Establishes cost and time estimates for implementation and produces business process flow charts. Evaluates alternative design solutions presented by programmers for end users. Sets specifications for table creation and populates new tables. Creates communication plans (correspondence, presentations, and other materials) for knowledge transfer to end-user. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Guides end users through complex application functionality. Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
