*Position : Hadoop Developer with ETL Exp. * *Location : NYC, NY * *Duration : 6+ Months * *Interview : Phone then Face to Face Job Description *In a nutshell this person is creating *Pig & Hive scripts* to take this specific scooped data out of the database of their system (MySQL) and extract it, transform it till it ultimately ends up in a HDFS file and push it out systems for their own internal data analysis. * Job Responsibilities* - Load and transform real time data into analytics environments - Java development - Interact with System Architects, Data Architects and Data Scientists - Performance analysis and capacity planning - Test systems for scalability and stability *Job Requirement* - Have a passion for developing efficient, testable, and well-documented code - Experience with distributed systems - Love to work with open source technologies like Hadoop and love to build software in the cloud - Experience with common Object-oriented design patterns as applied to Java - AWS SDK experience with an emphasis on EMR, SWF, S3 - Experience with *Maven and GitHub*.
