*Required Skills:*
The qualified candidate for this position will possess a Bachelor's degree
in Computer Science or a related discipline, and 7 - 10+ years or more of
related experience as an Oracle PL/SQL developer and database
administrator. The candidate must have a strong initiative and leadership
skills, strong work ethic, responsibility and dedication is also necessary.
In addition, the ability to work independently, and in a team environment
with strong verbal and writing skills is required.
The specific skill sets desired are summarized as follows:
* Modify database schema as needed including partitioning.
* Implement best practices and recommend tools to manage database schemas.
* Support development, test, and production environments using Oracle 11g
Forms and Reports expertise.
* Design, develop, and implement archiving of production data.
* Identify potential issues and limitations; monitor and improve
performance.
* Develop and maintain procedures to optimize application availability.
* Suggest improvements in database infrastructure where appropriate
* Capacity planning
* Diagnose issues in complex application architectures
* Evaluate and solicit feedback on processes to identify possible areas of
improvement for optimizing transactions
* Perform impact analysis of changes to database schema objects
* Work closely and provide technical support to applications developers on
new and existing Oracle systems
* Build and maintain stored procedures, packages, triggers and views.
* Provide technical assistance with custom development.
* Perform knowledge transfer in the areas of Oracle DBA, Oracle and PL/SQL
programming and performance monitoring.

*Job Description:*
The consultant will provide development, maintenance, technical & database
support for the Unified Timekeeping System's Oracle based pick, crew,
timekeeping, personnel, security, and training modules. The consultant will
be responsible for advising on the aspects of deliverables for various
disciplines listed in scope of requirements plus systems analysis, database
change requests, communications, process analysis, security and standards.
He/she will be a hands on developer and will plan and oversee testing of
the Oracle based Unified Timekeeping System (UTS) application system
including interface. Incumbent will insure compliance with change control,
quality assurance, safety, business continuity and disaster recovery
procedures. In addition, this position will require daily time sensitive
troubleshooting of UTS software application problems. The consultant will
manage the development of effective and efficient Oracle Forms and Reports
consistent with the UTS requirements document. The specification document
shall adhere to project standards.
