Job Title: Unix/Linux Admin Location: Detroit, MI Duration: 12+ Months *Rate: Max $43/hr on C2C* Required Skills/Experience Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred. Minimum five (5) years related experience preferred. Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Extensive creativity required across areas of expertise. Unix / Linux Systems Systems Administration (monitoring, maintenance, restore , design, build) Any or all AIX, Solaris, Red Hat, or Suse experience is preferred Large scale web user environment is key (supporting thousands of users) Understanding of Virtualization concepts, Vmware experience required 3+ years of overall combined WebSphere v6, v7, or v8 experience a plus 3+ years supporting Apache web server preferred Utilization of Puppet Tools for code management a plus Set monitoring strategy, implement and guide tuning /alerting processes Experience with Compuware monitoring tools such as app vantage, server vantage, Gomez and dynatrace a plus Ability to code in house monitoring tools to supplement software packages in RRDB, Mysql, Perl, and others for snmp based monitoring, learn appropriate tools as required Understanding of the role of distributed databases in web application and how to assist DBA¿s in troubleshooting. Oracle, SQL, distributed DB2 a plus. Understanding of MQ infrastructure design, implementation, troubleshooting with external partners, MQ Application Programming, MQ Administration (including Security), and MQ Integrator Application Programming and Administration. QPASA or Omegamon MQ monitoring knowledge and experience Experience with IBM DataPower and XSLT transformations a plus. Implements system patching / maintenance for WebSphere. WAS (WebSphere Application Server) V7 upgrade experience Sun One Web Server version 6.x experience a plus 3+ years Directory (LDAP, JES) servers support, maintenance & tuning Java development experience highly preferred Expert level in scripting in Ant, Perl & Korn, Unix, and automating code deployment - experience in IBM RAFW a plus Focuses on maintaining high systems availability through change discipline, proactively addressing threats to availability Excellent understanding of sound applications testing approaches and change discipline principles in the promotion to production processes Familiarity with VIP¿s, F5, clustering, load balancing and Network Connectivity principles Understanding of Storage management principles and operations Monitors SAN, NAS, disk space for application logs and automation of space management.
