CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH MORE TERADATA AND LITTLE ORACLE (Golden Gate would be added advantage). *Job Description:* · Conduct job duties/responsibilities according to BI Life Cycle methodology · Conduct analysis; scope; estimate time to develop data management solutions · Develop detail data design for final solution that adheres to business/technical requirements; ensure information is provided in most timely/efficient method · Identify issues; recommend initiatives to address data quality/data integrity · Troubleshoot databases/software; performance-tune (as necessary) · Work closely with Vendors/ IT counterpart to monitor/tune environment · Lead in establishment/maintenance of Data Warehouse infrastructure; ability to be flexible; grows as the Business grows · Adhere to standards/strategic objectives; meet committed timeframes/schedules · Assess/cultivate long-term strategic goals for BI/Data Warehouse environment in conjunction with Business/BI team/other stakeholders · Direct; organize; lead Data Warehouse infrastructure projects (such as hardware migration; software upgrades, and setting up BI Process Development methodology) Conduct research; make recommendations on BI products/services/standards · Mentor and/or provide leadership to members of BI team. · Responsible for managing and supporting production databases in high performance, highly available, and mission critical database platforms. · Responsible for building metadata repository at the enterprise level. · Works closely with various application development teams, IT technical support teams, quality assurance team, security team, and operations to develop reporting solutions to support various business initiatives and projects. · Configures and maintains Teradata databases, installs Teradata Client Tools, creates database objects, creates users with appropriate roles and levels of security. · Recommends and implements database security policies that are consistent with Company's security guidelines. · Ability to understand/debug complex SQL queries and provide query tuning recommendations · Recommends and implements database backup and recovery strategies that meet Company’s recovery and availability requirements. Must be knowledgeable in Teradata TARA, Netbackup technology, and Teradata backup administrative tools. Includes the ability to install and upgrade Teradata backup software on Linux media servers. · Proactively seeks opportunities to improve the environment following established processes and procedures. · Works independently to perform database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing and ongoing maintenance/tuning to ensure maximum performance. · Recommends best practices and ensures they are implemented and incorporated into DBA procedures. · Ensures database compliance with PCI/SOX audits · Develops and communicates database standards and procedures. · Ensure all production changes follow established change control processes · Be available for 24x7 on-call support of production systems Qualifications · BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science/Mathematics or Management Information Systems Degree with 10+ years of experience in Relational Database administration in a production environment (5+ of which is working in a Teradata 24x7 Production Environment) · 7+ years of experience working with UNIX/Linux operating system · 3+ years of Oracle DBA experience · Expert knowledge of GoldenGate replication based solutions such as clustered failover for minimum downtime in a near real time environment. Experienced in setting up GoldenGate Monitor and Director. · Strong working knowledge with Teradata version 13.0 or higher with proven skills in database planning, performance tuning and problem resolution. Experience in database migrations from Teradata v13.xx to Teradata v14.10 and higher is a plus. · Experience with Teradata Unity, Data Mover, and Ecosystem in an ACTIVE/ACTIVE production environment is a plus. · Highly experienced with “state of the art” application server environments/enterprise integration technologies · Expertise in Teradata partitioning schemes/pruning/PI/NUPI/NUSI/JI. Knowledge and experienced on appropriateness of using these technologies within the data warehouse. · Expert level of SQL tuning; instance tuning; storage tuning · Demonstrated expertise in data management in a Data Warehouse setting; experience with data warehouse lifecycles/methodologies · Demonstrated ability to re-engineer/design data management solutions to realize improved performance · Excellent verbal/written communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people of varying skills · Proficient with MS Office Professional Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Project/VISIO) · Ability to establish/maintain a high level of customer trust/confidence · Ability to work independently/as a team player to produce effective results in a fast paced, dynamic environment · Positive attitude/self-motivated/confident · Demonstrable customer focus attitude · Ability to learn quickly · Ability to participate (in rotation) for 24/7 on-call support · Strong knowledge of EDW data modeling practice (3NF) · 5+ year expertise in Kimball Data Warehouse Methodology (Star Schema) Thanks *Naveen Krishna* | Talent Acquisition *Systems America, Inc.* 115 Route 46 West, Bldg.
