*System Engineer – Job Opportunity – Scottsdale, Arizona (Will Consider GC or USC first)* *6+ Months Contract* Client has a job opportunity for a IT System Engineer in Scottsdale Arizona ,. This position will be responsible for working within MS Active Directory, GPO creation, VMware, SCCM,SCOM and scripting in a Windows enterprise environment. JOB DESCRIPTION As a System Engineer, this position will be part of the team at Brookfield Global Relocation Services team that is responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining Brookfield’s server infrastructure. Brookfield is looking for motivated, self-directed person who is capable of supporting the server and server management infrastructure. The System Engineer will install, configure and maintain Brookfield’s servers built on the Microsoft Windows and Linux platform hosted in a VMWare environment. The System Engineer will utilize MS SCCM, MS SCOM and other server management tools to support and maintain the environment. Provide reports and metrics of various KPI for the server infrastructure which includes security compliance and capacity management. SSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Configure, manage and support Brookfield’s MS 2008 Active Directory infrastructure – GPO management, OU structure management, multiple geographically disperse domain controller management. • Support server infrastructure that includes Windows server 2003 – 2012, and Linux servers • Work with infrastructure management tools such as MS SCOM and MS SCCM • Setup, configure, and maintain MS SCOM monitor for servers and business applications as required. • Setup, configure, and maintain Server patch updates and software deployment packages in MS SCCM. • Deploy Windows and Linux OS hot fixes and patch upgrades. • Maintain and troubleshoot the following Microsoft network services, AD, DHCP, DNS, and WINS. • Build and support Reverse proxy for both Microsoft (TMG\UAG or Server 2012) and Linux. • Setup and support web applications in Microsoft IIS 7+ environment. • Setup, configure, and support servers in a VMware 5.x Infrastructure. • Setup and support SMTP mail gateway servers • Work with the Project Management and other teams to provision infrastructure requirements – server builds, software installation, storage and share provisioning etc. • Compose and review standards, network diagrams and drawings, and deployment plans and schedules. • Monitor and escalate system alerts using Brookfield’s suite of monitoring tools. (MS SCOM, VC OPS) • Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves server and application problems to a root cause. • Participate in project and problem facilitation meetings. • Share on-call responsibilities with other team members. • Provide infrastructure reporting metric – both team and executive. • Infrastructure and application systems Disaster Recovery architecture, setup and periodic testing Education and Experience: • BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or 7+ equivalent work experiences. • Working experience with Infrastructure management tools like MS SCOM, MS SCCM, and MS WSUS. • Microsoft MCSE (Server Infrastructure) certification with minimum 3+ years of experience or 5+ equivalent work experiences in Windows Server 20xx including 2008\2012 AD services. • Strong experience installing and supporting Windows Servers 2003, 2008, 2012 • Experience installing and supporting Linux server • Experience working in a VMWare Infrastructure. • Extensive experience deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting technologies built on the Microsoft Windows stack – IIS 6, 7+, MS .Net • Experience working with Microsoft Distributed File System (DFS) • Experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, SMTP. • A thorough understanding of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking. • Possess an understanding of SDLC and Change Management Process. • Experience using defect tracking tools to document and process documentation, hardware and software defects. • Advanced skills creating PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive tasks. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work with minimal supervision. • Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic working environment.
