I was able to compile and install the complete set of tool on Fedora 11.
There is 1 problem remaining.
According to the docs a vmblock should be installed as a kernel module
and it should be visible in /proc/fs/vmblock containing 2 nodes dev and
mountPoint.
I do not get these nodes.
After a first installation,
When I dragged a file from the Windows XP host to
the VMWare workstation 6.5 running Fedora 11 as a client, I got an error
message. When I clicked retry, the file was copied.
So I did a second installation, and now drag and drop does not work at
all any more.

I can mount the host file system under /mnt/hgfs
and clipboard copy and paste also works from the host to the client.
So parts of the installation are OK.
