If you want to completely kill of time synchronization in the guest, you can
remove the time sync plugin (libtimeSync.so) from the "vmsvc" plugins directory.

There's no other way to override VMX settings from inside the guest (since the
VMX settings mostly control the behavior of the software running on the host,
not inside the guest).
