Hi guys I have just completed the migration of our VMware setup to ESX4.1. Also, I run Vcenter 4.1. now.
Everything seems to work fine. However, when migrating my Ubuntu VMs, I always get a warning about "no guest os heartbeats are being received". This occurs with all Ubuntu VMs, 8.04 LTS and 10.04 LTS. The tools on my 8.04 VMS are a bit hacky, so I don't mind that. The tools on the 10.04 boxes are the open-vm-tools included with Ubuntu, for use with dkms. They do compile fine, and even the dkms automatic module build after recent kernel upgrades works great. What can I do about this? PS. I just saw on http://open-vm-tools.sourceforge.net/ that there is a new version out, which has build 261024, which almost matches my ESX4.1 build (260247). Can this be integrated or backported into Ubuntu 10.04?
