Fencepost comment : There should be an established process for this and 
not just some informal mailing list hand waving.  Also an individual 
working for a corporation may not in fact be able to grant this 
permission.  (All depends on the situation and thus why my comment 
above)  Please don't take this as legal advice and just trying to be
