Facebook mistreats the public. It does surveillance of its users. It
does surveillance of people who are not Facebook users. When photos
are posted, Facebook asks people to supply the names of the people in
the photos, which means that posting a photo of someone in Facebook
means subjecting him to more surveillance.
Why do so many people use Facebook? Because other people do. In
other words, if you use Facebook, other people will use it because you
do. The amount of influence a typical individual user has is small,
but the Pirate Party would have a lot of influence.
Isn't the Pirate Party against surveillance such as this?
If so, it must not encourage people to use Facebook.
You can't support a principled stand by violating your principles.
