When you refer to this being fixed in 1.4.2-beta2, would this be fixed by
one of the following deltas to src/viced/host.c:

or are you referring to the changes to ubik_call() and rxgen, from the CVS
delta "ubik-call-sucks"?
The latter changes are only in the HEAD and openafs-devel-1_5_x branches;
they are not in 1.4.2-beta2.
(we are also seeing an IP ACL bug here, but with 1.2.13 fileservers; we
haven't tried 1.4.x yet)
