The exact kernel problems with FC5's distributed kernel have been
discused here (and on -devel) for a while. Please go read the archives.

I'm a little confused here, and I have read all of the recent traffic on this list. As far as I can tell, even the kernel currently in rawhide still has write protection enabled on the syscall table. Are Fedora
talking about shipping a kernel with this protection disabled?

Sorry, please ignore my #2. Please read my other, more repetative numbers.
;)

I incorrectly stated the issue with the FC5 kernel.

Simon.

PS: I do, now, have FC5 RPMS of 1.4.1rc10... I'm waiting for them to
get uploaded to the openafs site.
