The VL_GetEntryByName?() RPCs returns the IDs and server locations of
all of the volumes in the requested group. The Windows cache manager
tracks all of the volumes by the group (as of 1.5.21). It does not keep
a separate entry for each volume.

One of the reasons that the CM tracks the group is so that it can easily
implement the automatic use of the RW volume when a .readonly volume is
requested but doesn't exist.

Other than knowledge of which volumes make up the group, the CM doesn't
care what the volume IDs are or how they are allocated.
