There's no either/or with Git. The whole point of Git is that it's a 
distributed version control system. We can mirror to both SourceForge and 
GitHub (and anywhere else). Avogadro is mirrored to the SF git repository this 
way. We can (and should) continue to use the SourceForge tracker, downloads, 
etc.

I'm just thinking that we can have GitHub's version control features -- it's 
much easier to track things like Tim's experimental branches, patch 
contributions, etc. And GitHub offers transparent use of SVN from a GitHub 
repository. SourceForge is either SVN or Git, but not both at the moment.

I think you might like Git if you tried it for a while. But the answer to your 
question is "yes, if we're using GitHub."
