The ans should be yes.

I guess jetty and tomcat using the same file:
/var/lib/tomcat5/webapps/openbluedragon/WEB-INF/lib/mysql.jar

P.S. For jetty, I have to upgrade to java 1.5 to make it work. For
tomcat5, not necessary.

Anyway, I downloaded the latest from mysql.com and replaced it. it
works now!!!!
