Hi Brian Don't really understand, but correct me if I am wrong.
You should be putting the host entry into the Apache host file, may it httpd.conf directly or the vhost.conf one. Then you have to put the host also into the Tomcat server.xml file.
If you want to direct a domain entry on your local machine you will also want to put the domain into your hosts file.
As I said, I might have misunderstood you, thus please excuse if I am writing something which is already obvious to you.

By the way on the video you posted, I couldn't get the <VirtualHost> links to work in the httpd-vhosts.conf file. I had to put them in my user conf file. Any reason why that might be the case? I'm running OSX 10.5.5. Thought I might mention it in case you wanted to update the wiki for other people.
