Could you write an exception into the onRequestStart() function of the 
Application.cfc - to trap for that particular captcha template call and 
escape entirely from "fusebox world" in that case?

I know that's kinda vague and assumes some prerequisite knowledge, I 
don't know which FB version you're running.

It's kinda like trapping for direct calls to cfc files to prevent blank
