Since DNS typically involves hostnames only, it's hard to include the port
number in any DNS level redirects.

Is the 8080 app going to be available publicly? You might be easiest served
to just use a URL forwarding service that will point a domain name to

http://www.secondimpl.com:8080/

But still, I'm not sure if you want to make the port visible in the URL.

Is this hosted on Unix or Windows? Do the apps share the same database? If
not, why not setup a virtual server on Linux to host the app? VM's are
cheap. I can get one for $35 per month, and you can make copies of the vm,
so disaster recovery is pretty easy if you stay on top of your vm backups.
Just reload the last known good vm and you're good.
