I guess it depends on whether you want people to move legacy code onto
your engine...

OK, given that this basic null issue is not the root of the FW/1
problem - and that OpenBD exhibits exactly the same "bad behavior"
you're now complaining about Adobe / Railo implementing(!) - let's get
back to FW/1 and continue debugging so we don't get too far OT...
