Well yes, that does narrow it down a bit.

IF the exact same code on the exact same server - in the exact same location - will execute fine when you call the file with 'http' but then break when you call the EXACT SAME FILE with 'https' : then you probably need assistance from either your networking team, systems provider, etc. and not us code people.

Someone's probably gonna have to use a packet sniffer like WireShark to follow the network conversation, especially if your secure stuff is being handled by a network balancing device like NetScaler or some firewall gizmo.
