Hi--

I've got a brand new server running Windows 2003/IIS 6.0 (all patches
applied) and have just installed the latest version of OBD 1.2.

I've followed the installation instructions found here (and double-
checked everything):
http://wiki.openbluedragon.org/wiki/index.php/IIS6

The OBD Administrator console runs just fine; I've set up my
datasources, email server, etc.

However, my one and only CFM application at
http://www2.welcomedriver.com/index.cfm
immediately fails with a (503) SERVICE UNAVAILABLE.

Under IIS I have only one website defined (the above URL; I'll refer
to it as WD2 for the remainder of this post). The only non-standard
thing about my setup is that I keep WD2 at "C:\_webproduction
\WD2\htdocs\" -- not in the standard IIS directory "C:\Inetpub\"

The "C:\_webproduction" directory has permissions for EVERYONE > Read
& Execute privileges for now - I'd like to lock this down to giving
just the "\htdocs\" subdirectories permissions appropriate to the
anonymous IIS account, but I'm trying to eliminate permission-based
sources of error. I've granted the same permissions to the virtual
directory ("jakarta") and the physical directory "C:\openbd\connector"

What happens is that when I call "http://www2.welcomedriver.com/
index.cfm" from any web browser, the DefaultAppPool immediately
crashes because of rapid-fail protection. I've enabled logging for
ISAPI, and the engine is reporting this:
2010-07-15 20:13:47 64.20.48.82 1552 64.20.48.82 80 HTTP/1.1 GET / 503
326156662 AppOffline DefaultAppPool
2010-07-15 20:14:00 64.20.48.82 1553 64.20.48.82 80 HTTP/1.1 GET / 503
326156662 AppOffline DefaultAppPool
2010-07-15 20:19:29 64.20.48.82 1556 64.20.48.82 80 HTTP/1.1 GET / 503
326156662 AppOffline DefaultAppPool

Disabling rapid fail protection just delays the crash until the 30-
second timeout occurs, then the same thing happens. I can manually
restart the DefaultAppPool, but any call to WD2 generates the same
error. The page displays SERVICE UNAVAILABLE.

I've done a search on these forums as well as a fairly deep Google
Search, but I don't seem to find any thread related to my problem,
which seems strange, since I assumed I have a fairly generic setup.

I also find that calling "http://www2.welcomedriver.com/robots.txt";
crashes the server as well. This may rule out OBD configuration
issues--perhaps I've done something to the ISAPI configuration,
although I *have* double-checked everything against the installer
instructions--there is no deviation I can see.

My question to you: has anyone seen anything like this - are there any
suggestions? I'm a long time ColdFusion developer and Windows server/
hardware director - I've been wrangling WinBoxen since NT4 and coding
CFML since CF4--I'm usually able to troubleshoot my way to success,
but after 4 days, this one has me stumped.

Thanks in advance!
