Is this functionallity available within OpenBD's Amazon AWS implementation?
http://aws.amazon.com/about-aws/whats-new/2010/02/24/amazon-simpledb-introduces-consistent-reads/ It would be really nice to be able to save changes and have them be immediately available just like an RDBMS. SimpleDB saves/reads are 'eventually consistent read optimized' by default.
