Thanks Sean. I share your conflicts, Matt. Mura is making great progress on the CMS front, and Ray's stuff seems like a good starting point for refactoring and extension by developers at the enterprise level. Then again; this other stuff is already polished! But that decision seems to power a vicious cycle: CFML project X will never approach the feature set of competitor Y - if developers won't ever use it - for even their most feature-thin requirements. Putting my PR hat back on for a sec, it seems like a creditability problem to promote a platform - but to do so via another platform entirely. IMHO, it's more than just a quaint observation a developer might make. It's something even a "business decider" will notice and ponder. Where deadlines are concerned, and paying clients have a rigid list of requirements and a set budget; I can totally understand a move to the market leader which best fits the bill. Heck, lots of times the client will demand a certain product (a decision often based more on the stylesheet - than the feature list... "don't make me explain, that one just looks cooler"). We do what we're paid to do. But for a labor of love like this, it just feels weird. What if you didn't have real work to do and bills to pay? Man. I feel your pain. At least CF's got a nice variety of frameworks, right? Maybe we should just show those business deciders all of our frameworks!
