My web agency runs over 100 sites and we use MySQL where ever we can. We
have 2 or 3 sites on SQL Server and one on oracle because we have to, but
MySQL is a truly excellent product. We even use MySQL as a backend for
sites running on top of .NET

And if you want commercial support for MySQL there are tons of cos offering
it e.g. http://www.skysql.com/

I also would thoroughly recommend

A truly excellent book

Thanks
