Maybe try hitting the Administrator through the Coyote (Tomcat's internal web server) port (8888 by default) and see if you get the same error. That will tell you if it's related to the web server connector or not.

If it helps any, I do have FW/1 installed and I can run thru those
examples. (Man, this does make my head hurt :) )
