Heh I hear you -- I had the weekend all to myself (fantastic weather in the
Pacific Northwest no less) and I spent far too much of it adding date range
overlap validation to an application I'm working on. Can't beat the
satisfaction of whittling all my hairbrained attempts down to a single line
and having it work though. :-)

I'll have to blog that while I'm thinking about it because next time I have
to do this I'll forget what I did, not to mention it'll be interesting to
see if there's a better way to do it.
