As everyone has mentioned OpenBD is still alive and well. Unlike some other open source projects Alan actually maintains and improves OpenBD for use in production for large clients. This means the OpenBD crew does not really need to ask for donations. I think that mindset really changes how OpenBD operates. I'm used to many other open source projects posting often to say "Hey look what we did! New Update!" in order to keep donations flowing or get new people involved with development. OpenBD seems to have both of those scenarios covered. However, I would really enjoy if OpenBD "splashed" a bit more.
